Note 61 – 2024 Reading Insights

Happy New Year! It’s time to reflect on my 2024 reading list and see what nuggets are to be found.

Book Stats From 2024

Total Books: 58   Total Pages: 19833   Average: 342   Longest: 922   Shortest: 70

The longest book read (like last year) was a Rick Steves’ travel guide – Portugal. I probably skimmed about half of it, but the other half I read/reviewed multiple times preparing for our journeys in Portugal (Note 28), so I’m counting the whole 922 pages!

Compared to 2023, I read 2 less books, but 666 more pages.

Genres: 8 (10 in 2023)

GenreBooks Read

I achieved my 2024 goal of reading at least one non-fiction book per month. I’ll try to do this in 2025 also.

Most Read Authors: Cynthia Ellingsen – 5; Anthony Horowitz – 5; LJ Ross – 4

It was my first time reading Ellingsen and Horowitz – obviously I enjoyed the initial books I read by them and had to binge a few more!

Of the 58 books that I read this year, I bought 7, borrowed 45 on Kindle Unlimited, and acquired 6 via Amazon First Reads.

  2. […] I have previously read The Alice Network and The Rose Code by Kate Quinn. The Rose Code was one of my favorite reads from last year (see Note 52 and Note 61). […]

  3. […] If the title sounds familiar, that’s because I read The Last Mrs. Parrish last December and it was also one of my favorite books of 2024. […]
