Expected weather: Hi 50F, Mostly Cloudy, Foggy
Seas: Moderate
We are getting the hang of sea days. Today we are sailing the Atlantic Ocean. Per the captain’s Noon report, the sea temp and the air temp are both 50F today, and we will experience moderate seas increasing to 7-8 feet, plus increasing winds. At Noon we were 179 nautical miles from the closest town in Greenland and 397 nautical miles from our destination around mid-day tomorrow of Ĺsafjördur.
Today’s routine – eat, work on pictures, eat, work on blog, eat… you get the idea.
Since it was another leisurely sea day, we had breakfast in The Restaurant this morning. Interestingly, when the waiter served Dave his oatmeal today, he also had all the fixings with him! Viking really does pay attention to feedback and seek to constantly improve their service. After a morning game of 313 at the card table on Deck 2, we headed to the World Café for the featured pasta station. Then between all four of us, we sampled several of the desserts available at lunch. Really too many options – so you simply must create a sampler platter! Unfortunately, I forgot to take any pictures, but when a dessert is called “Zen” – who needs pictures?

No spectacular scenery today – just water and fog, so I got my photos from yesterday transferred to my computer and selected my favorites for the earlier post today of our traversal through Prince Christian Sound. Got my Wordle and Duolingo and other puzzles done. Just a relaxing day, in general.
We had dinner in Manfredi’s for the third time tonight. Anyone want to guess what our appetizer course was? Yep, 3 orders of calamari and shrimp again! Keith got a pasta stuffed with Bolognese. For the main course, Dave decided it was “do-over” night and got the pork chop again, Keith decided to try it, too. Paula got the grilled cod fish special, and I got the beef short ribs (which Dave got last time). Believe it or not, I passed on dessert, but the rest had gelato or Sherbert. I did have a latte prepared by the lovely Peni. Once, again we were all very pleased with our food as well as the service.
We decided to go to the Viking Vocalists Rock ‘n Roll tribute performance tonight but arrived too late to the Star Theater to get seats, so returned to our stateroom to watch live on our TV. That’s a nice technology feature – we also watched today’s port talk live on our TV.
Hoping for smooth sailing tonight, but we can tell, the seas have definitely been increasing in the past couple of hours. Overall though, the ship’s stabilizers do such a great job that you hardly notice it most of the time. I think tonight will be a little more rocky though!
